Most recent clinical experience has compelled me to come up with this article. As a doctor, its obvious to succeed often and occasionally fail as well. For that matter, its true for anyone. We all fail sometimes, and success tastes better when followed. Well, here I’m sharing a success story obviously.
This case here is no less than a miracle to me and the mother of the patient as well.
I say miracle because its one of the success stories with a system of healing, which most of the people think is slow, and with its so-called one of the slow acting remedies, i.e. Pulsatilla.
Last week, a mother came with her infant to me.
- The infant had recently suffered from an upset stomach and high fever.
- Parents went to a paediatrician and got her treated.
- But, within 2 weeks of her treatment, similar complaints relapsed.
- The child came up with a sudden high fever, bloating, coughing, loose motions with mucus.
- Due to fever, anti-pyritic was given, but stools were not normal, occasional coughing and runny nose persisted.
- So, they decided to go for homeopathic treatment this time.
The first look of the child still makes me smile.
- Skeptical, giving me the scary look
- Clinging to Mom
- Fair, delicate girl.
She was acting, would cry as if when I tried to palpate her tummy and auscultate her chest.
So I took a pause and we settled down to talk, within other couple of minutes, the child readily came to my lap and while I cuddled her and played, she allowed me to examine her.
- Body slightly warm.
- Her chest had mild crepitations, upper side only
- Tummy bloated, tensed, palpating which was not being liked by the her.
- She was very cautious with her every move, for an infant, very carefully holding a support to stand and sit, and restless yet composed at the same time.
- She was enjoying the sight outside the window.
Her mother told me
- She was born at 30 weeks of gestation, and after initial careful days,
- The child had been good since then until few weeks ago when fever and tummy upset started.
- The child is always very cautious about her surroundings and safety.
- She eats well,
- Always thirsty
- loves sucking on empty bottle while asleep or when not feeling well
- Currently irregular bowels with lot of farting
- Offensive loose stools
- Sometimes thin mucus
- Sometimes greenish stool
- The tongue was thickly coated white
So, with this the case concludes, just one dose for the totality of the symptoms and overnight, the child was in perfect health by God’s blessings.
Next day, Child had
- No fever
- No chest crepitations
- No farting
- Normal stool
- No runny nose
- No coughing
- Tongue coating was also reduced.
Every case is different, so results vary person to person, as Homeopathy is Unique in its approach of individualisation. Every patient is a new case, not a common case of a certain disease. We treat the patient based on his/her individual complaints as a whole. I always say God’s blessing because He is the one taking care of us; we are merely making efforts. He has created every individual different from each other; similarly, no two cases are same. The case mentioned above would get any other remedy if the totality of all symptoms varied. Totality includes the pathological complaints as well as the patient’s behaviour or associated complaints (if any).
With this small case, I wish to convey how effectively and timely treatment can be done in Homeopathy, achieving good results. Unlike the common belief that homeopathy takes time or is ineffective, or slow in action.
