Diseases & Deficiencies!!   Are they really different?    What Homeopathy has to offer?    

Time changed so did our lifestyle , fooding and eventually disease pattern. We shall discuss various diseases in upcoming articles , lets first understand the ‘Disease’ itself.

When we use the word ‘Disease’, it means ‘lack of ease’ , the word itself evolved from French term  ‘desaise’ which means discomfort or trouble; it has attained a broader meaning now including sickness/illnesses. The baseline is , if our body or mind start lacking the ease & feels uneasy/troubled in doing the day to day activities, it has got a disease. It can be any external injury, allergies, certain infections, internal pathological conditions and if not so then may be certain Deficiencies.

Usually when we talk about any disease, it by default pops up an image of an array of illnesses , all but one (Deficiencies). Did you get it?

Lets have a look on a few most common complains we come across everyday and the commonest reason behind.

  • Hairfall– Anemia- deficiency of Iron, Folate, vit B12, vitamin C
  • Pain in heels, back ; fatigue– deficiency of Vitamin D
  • Bleeding gums, dry hair, dry skin– deficiency of Vitamin C
  • Muscle cramps– deficiency of calcium and sometimes it is as simple as not having enough water
  • Recurrent cold, cough , seasonal flu etc- deficiency of Zinc
  • Sleeplessness – deficiency of Iron, Vit D, Vit Bs, and even Magnesium

Afore mentioned are the conditions which are largely ruled by deficiencies. These conditions are also diseases and the cause itself reveals the medicine. Here the medicine is the respective deficient nutrients, it can be in the form of nutritious food or supplement.  Its not merely popping up the pills again.

Oh, its iron deficiency! Lets take up Iron pills, Uh..huh! Vit D? No worries! Lets have Vit D caps and so on… Isn’t this the approach we see these days?

It is really not going to help because its about correcting our food, our lifestyle and internal health. Merely supplements won’t help. Maybe, in some cases popping up the pills may show initial improvement but not for long. Once the supplements get depleted from the system, complains will return. Prolonged intake of supplements leads to Toxicity, another conditions becoming common these days due to unmonitored supplement intakes.

So, it is important to have complete balanced diet to cope up with deficiency diseases.
